The Woodstock Mayor and City Council will convene jointly with the Downtown Development Authority on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026, for a special joint executive session scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m.

According to the published agenda, the meeting will be held at New Ground Farm, 4563 Hickory Flat Highway, Canton, GA 30115. Residents with questions about the meeting may contact the City Clerk's office at 770-592-6000, ext. 1011.

The session opens with a formal appointment item: Trent Chambers will be administered the Oath of Office for a reappointment to the Downtown Development Authority. The reappointment was made by Council Member Warren Johnson, representing Ward 1. City Manager Michael Caldwell is listed as the staff contact for the item.

The DDA plays a central role in guiding economic development and revitalization efforts in Woodstock's downtown district, making board appointments a matter of ongoing interest to business owners and residents who follow downtown planning and investment decisions.

Following the oath of office, the joint body will move into executive session to discuss personnel, litigation and real estate matters. Under Georgia's Open Meetings Act, governing bodies are permitted to meet in closed session to deliberate on those specific topics without public access. No votes on substantive matters may be taken in executive session; any action resulting from closed-door discussions must be taken in open session.

The agenda does not include any items designated for public comment or public hearings. Residents seeking more information about the meeting may visit the city's website at woodstockga.gov or review the full agenda through the city's online agenda portal.
