Woodstock Public Safety Foundation Gears Up for Summer Raffles and Fall Golf Tournament
The nonprofit backing Woodstock police and fire personnel is accepting donations now and planning raffle opportunities at the city's summer concert series plus a major golf fundraiser this fall

The Woodstock Public Safety Foundation is asking residents to get acquainted with its mission, and consider opening their wallets, as the organization heads into its busiest fundraising stretch of the year. A summer presence at the Woodstock Concert Series and a fall golf tournament, the foundation's largest annual fundraiser, are both on the horizon.
The foundation operates under the motto "serving those who serve our community," and that mission is straightforward: support the men and women of the Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire Department in ways that city budgets alone cannot always cover. Jointly promoted by both departments, the foundation exists in the space between what government funding provides and what public safety personnel actually need, whether that means helping a family navigate the financial strain of a line-of-duty injury, funding equipment that falls outside standard appropriations, or recognizing officers and firefighters for exceptional service.
Residents who want to contribute now don't have to wait for an event. Donations are accepted through Venmo at @WPSF1897 or through PayPal at paypal.com/paypalme/donatetoWPSF. Additional information about the foundation's work is available on the city's official website at woodstockga.gov.
This summer, the foundation will set up at the Woodstock Concert Series, where attendees can enter to win raffle prizes. The Concert Series has become one of the city's signature warm-weather traditions, drawing residents downtown for live music and the kind of relaxed, neighborly atmosphere that makes it a natural fit for community outreach. Specific concert dates and raffle details had not been announced at press time.
The bigger event comes in the fall: a golf tournament the foundation describes as its largest fundraiser of the year. Details on the date, location, and registration have not yet been released, but the organization is encouraging supporters to watch for announcements as the event approaches.
That kind of community backing matters more than it might seem on the surface. Woodstock has grown at a remarkable pace over the past two decades, and the demands placed on local police and fire services have grown with it. Foundations like this one exist precisely because municipal budgets, however well-managed, can't anticipate every need. When residents support the Woodstock Public Safety Foundation, they're investing directly in the people who answer the call when something goes wrong next door.
