Woodstock police officers and firefighters will swap their usual duties for something a little more festive this spring, delivering Easter eggs directly to the front yards of participating city residents on April 4.
The "You've Been Egged" program is open to Woodstock city residents with children 12 and under. Families must register before the deadline, Monday, March 23, at 5 p.m., and can sign up or verify their city limits eligibility at woodstockga.gov/egged.
The joint effort between the Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire Department puts a neighborhood twist on the traditional Easter egg hunt, bringing the eggs to kids rather than the other way around. Participants should watch for a confirmation email in the weeks following registration.
For families on the fence, the clock is ticking. With less than three weeks to the registration cutoff, city officials are encouraging residents to share the word before the opportunity passes.
It's the kind of program that turns a routine morning into a memory, the sort that sticks with kids long after the candy is gone.
