Woodstock Police Arrest Teen in Riverstock Apartments Murder
An 18-year-old from Locust Grove faces malice murder charges in the January shooting death of Matthew Milner, 18.

Nearly a month after a shooting left an 18-year-old dead at a Woodstock apartment complex, police have arrested a suspect — and the victim's family may finally have answers.
The Woodstock Police Department announced the arrest of Prince Phillip Rolle, 18, of Locust Grove in connection with the Jan. 26 shooting death of Matthew Milner at the Riverstock Apartments. Rolle faces charges of malice murder, felony murder, and aggravated assault.
Officers responded to the Riverstock Apartment complex just after 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 26 following a report of a shooting. They found Milner wounded by gunfire and, with the help of Woodstock and Cherokee County Fire & EMS, rendered aid before he was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The investigation that followed drew on resources well beyond Woodstock's city limits. Detectives worked alongside the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, and Cobb County Police to identify a suspect vehicle tied to the incident — a lead that ultimately pointed investigators to Rolle. Arrest warrants in hand, detectives did not have to execute them themselves: Atlanta Police captured Rolle during an unrelated encounter. He is currently held at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
Woodstock Police Chief Roland Castro praised his department's work and acknowledged the partnerships that made the arrest possible. "I am proud of the great investigative work done by the Woodstock Police officers," Castro said. "We are very grateful for the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, and it is my sincere hope that the Milner family finds a measure of closure through this arrest."
Police said the investigation remains active but emphasized there is no believed continuing threat to the surrounding community.
For the Milner family, the arrest marks a painful but significant step — the beginning of a process that may, in time, bring some measure of justice for the 18-year-old they lost.
