Woodstock Installs Cool Roof at City Hall Annex
New energy-efficient roof reflects 75% of sunlight, reduces cooling costs and meets regional sustainability standards.

The City of Woodstock has completed installation of a Cool Roof at the City Hall Annex, an energy-efficient upgrade that reflects more than 75% of the sun's energy and reduces building cooling costs, according to the city.
The roof, completed earlier this year, meets standards established by the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Cool Roof Rating Council. Cool Roofs use specialized materials designed to reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat than traditional roofing. The City Hall Annex roof has a solar reflectance rating of 0.76, meaning it bounces back more than three-quarters of solar energy that hits it.
The installation is part of Woodstock's broader sustainability efforts. The city offers incentives for similar projects through its Sustainability Policy, including reduced building permit fees for qualifying Cool Roof installations. Many Cool Roof products carry ENERGY STAR certification and are available for both residential and commercial applications.
Builders and developers interested in Cool Roof projects can contact the Community Development Department for information on approved materials, certification requirements, and available incentives.
