Woodstock First Responders Host ‘Shop with a Hero’ for Local Children
Public safety officials partner with businesses to provide holiday shopping experience for youth.

<p><em>Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA</em></p><p>Woodstock Police, Fire Department, and Cherokee 911 personnel gathered at Walmart on Dec. 15 to assist local children during the annual "Shop with a Hero" event, utilizing funds raised throughout the year to provide a brighter holiday season.</p><p>A lineup of Woodstock Police SUVs, with blue emergency lights flashing, parked along the front of the Walmart store to mark the occasion. The event pairs public safety officials with children to help them select gifts for Christmas.</p><p>According to event organizers, the initiative is supported by year-round fundraising efforts specifically designed to benefit these children. Several community partners contributed to the event's success, including Walmart, Chick-fil-A, LGE, and Black Rifle Coffee.</p><p>Officials described the event as a "great day" for the department and the community. The program aims to foster positive relationships between first responders and local youth while ensuring participants can celebrate the holidays.</p>
