Woodstock Fire Department personnel conducted field training exercises on Tuesday, utilizing a residential structure to simulate real-world emergency conditions. A-shift crews focused on essential operations, including hose deployment and search and rescue techniques, according to department officials.
The department emphasized the value of accessing "real spaces" for these exercises rather than relying solely on training facilities. Working inside actual buildings allows crews to navigate realistic layouts, obstacles, and tight spaces they encounter during emergency calls in Woodstock.
Images from the session show firefighters in full gear maneuvering hoses through the interior of a home featuring wood paneling and carpeting. The drill provided an opportunity for the team to practice moving equipment effectively through hallways and rooms, a critical skill for suppressing residential fires.
