Woodstock Fire Department Offering $25 CPR/AED Certification Course May 30
The four-hour American Heart Association class costs $25 and covers adult, child, and infant care, but seats are limited to 20 and registration closes May 22

The Woodstock Fire Department is bringing CPR training directly to the community this spring, offering a Heartsaver CPR/AED course on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Woodstock Senior Center, 223 Arnold Mill Road. At $25 per person, the four-hour class earns participants a two-year certification from the American Heart Association, and with only 20 spots available, it will fill fast.
The course covers CPR and AED use for adults, children, and infants, and is built specifically for non-medical providers: parents, caregivers, teachers, fitness instructors, and anyone who simply wants to know what to do when seconds matter. Participants must be at least 16 years old to register.
There's a practical dimension to learning CPR from firefighters that a generic classroom setting can't replicate. The instructors teaching this course are the same professionals who respond to cardiac emergencies on Woodstock's streets, people with firsthand experience of what bystander intervention looks like before an ambulance arrives. That context alone is worth the price of admission.
A few details to know before signing up: Woodstock city residents receive priority registration. The deadline is May 22, and no refunds will be issued, so confirm you can attend the full session before committing. The course provides an OSHA-compliant CPR completion card but is not designed to meet the higher-level certification requirements of a professional medical environment. Anyone who needs CPR certification for employment should verify exactly which credential their employer requires, and can visit CPR.heart.org to find the appropriate class, before registering for this one.
To sign up, visit woodstock.recdesk.com, click the Programs tab, select Community Activities, and scroll to the CPR/AED class. Questions can be directed to tgobbel@woodstockga.gov or gmcallister@woodstockga.gov.
