Recruits from the Woodstock Fire Department and Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services conducted joint training exercises on Monday, December 22. The session focused on Firefighter I skills practice, preparing the next generation of local first responders for active duty.
Dressed in full turnout gear and equipped with self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) tanks, recruits worked through practical scenarios involving fire hydrant operations. The training required personnel to manipulate hydrant valves and manage hose connections, ensuring they have mastered the fundamental mechanics needed for fire suppression.
This collaborative effort brings together city and county trainees to standardize their skills. The "Firefighter I" designation represents a foundational level of certification, covering the essential safety and operational competencies required before firefighters can serve the community.
