Woodstock Arts is looking for its next cast of performers, and the search starts this month. The organization is holding auditions for two summer musicals, *Annie* and *Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Musical*, with open slots on March 16 and March 18.
General auditions run from 6 to 10 p.m. both evenings, with callbacks scheduled for March 22. For those who can't make it in person, Woodstock Arts is also accepting virtual audition submissions through its website.
The productions are casting a combined roster of adult and student performers. *Annie* alone calls for 14 adult actors and 8 student actors, and auditions are open to anyone ages 8 and up, making it an opportunity for younger aspiring performers to share the stage with adults.
The classic musical, with a book by Thomas Meehan, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and music by Charles Strouse, follows the irrepressible orphan Annie through Depression-era New York City. It remains one of the most recognizable shows in American musical theater.
Interested actors can sign up for an audition slot at Woodstock Arts' website. For a young performer stepping onto a stage for the first time, or a seasoned community theater veteran looking for a summer project, the curtain call begins now.
