Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA

City officials announced plans for a six-story upscale hotel in downtown Woodstock as part of a broader wave of 2026 developments across Cherokee County. The project joins major revitalization efforts in Canton and Holly Springs designed to enhance local commerce and community gathering spaces.

In Woodstock, the city has signed a letter of intent with developer Southern Ventures to construct a 130-room hotel situated across from the Northside Hospital, Cherokee Amphitheater. The facility is set to include food and beverage venues, ground-floor retail, a spa, and 5,000 square feet of event space. Officials state this addition aims to support business conferences and increase overnight stays, driving spending at local restaurants and shops.

Neighboring Canton is moving forward with its North Street Redevelopment Project, designed by GMC Architecture and Engineering. The mixed-use plan features a boutique hotel, a four-story office building, a courthouse expansion, and residential units centered around a new "North St. Plaza." To accommodate the increased activity, the project includes a multi-level parking deck with capacity for up to 800 vehicles.

The Holly Springs Town Center is also progressing, following the recent groundbreakings of a new City Hall and amphitheater late last year. According to county announcements, these simultaneous developments are intended to create a "live, work, play" environment that boosts property values and generates tax revenue for schools and public amenities.
