Sequoyah, Woodstock High Students Named CCSD Athletes of the Month
District recognizes wrestler Sarah Vehar and basketball player Josh Schulze for athletic excellence.

<p><em>Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA</em></p><p>The Cherokee County School District (CCSD) announced its January 2026 student athlete honorees this week, recognizing standout performers from Sequoyah High School and Woodstock High School for their achievements in winter sports.</p><p>Sarah Vehar, a wrestler representing Sequoyah High School, received the distinction of CCSD Female Athlete of the Month. She was honored alongside her coaches, Jacob Hewgley and Joe Hulen.</p><p>Josh Schulze, a member of the Woodstock High School basketball team, was named the CCSD Male Athlete of the Month. Schulze was recognized for his performance under the leadership of head coach Eric Blair.</p><p>The monthly recognition program is sponsored by BSN. According to district officials, the awards reflect the School Board's focus on ensuring students achieve growth and success in both academic and extracurricular environments.</p>
