The Cherokee County School District has opened the application window for school reassignment for the 2026-27 academic year, giving parents the opportunity to transfer students to specific schools with open capacity through March 1.

Families can apply for reassignment to 17 designated schools across the county. Available options include Woodstock Middle School, Mill Creek Middle School, and River Ridge High School. The list also features 13 elementary schools, including Indian Knoll, Sixes, and Mountain Road, as well as specialized programs like the STEM academies at Ball Ground, Holly Springs, and Knox, and the Fine Arts Academy at Hasty.

According to district officials, the application process uses an online, mobile-friendly form available on the CCSD website. Parents are encouraged to review the posted reassignment guidelines before applying. Those with questions regarding the process should contact the front office of their child's current school for assistance.

In addition to K-12 reassignment, the district has established timelines for other programs. The application window for the Pre-K program lottery runs from Feb. 2 through Feb. 27. Registration for kindergarten and new student enrollment begins in March, while applications for the i-Grad Virtual Academy for grades 9-12 will open in April.
