Local Middle Schools Crowned Basketball Champions
E.T. Booth, Woodstock, and Freedom Middle Schools secure titles in district tournament.

<p><em>Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA</em></p><p>The Cherokee County School District celebrated its 2026 middle school basketball champions this week, awarding plaques to top teams following the season-ending tournaments. The district honored regular season and tournament winners across two divisions, highlighting a program supported by the School Board to foster leadership and team-building among students.</p><p>In Division A, E.T. Booth Middle School dominated the girls' competition, sweeping both the regular season and tournament championships under coaches Nehemiah Jones and Matthew Herndon. On the boys' side, Woodstock Middle School, led by Coach Darrin Clark, captured the tournament title. Freedom Middle School took the regular season championship for Division A boys and finished as the tournament runner-up.</p><p>Dean Rusk Middle School secured a sweep in the Division B girls' category, winning both the regular season and tournament titles. For the Division B boys, Mill Creek Middle School also claimed both titles. Creekland Middle School finished as the tournament runner-up for both the boys' and girls' teams in Division B.</p><p>The winning teams received special plaques to display at their respective schools. The district released full rosters for the champion and runner-up teams, recognizing dozens of student-athletes for their performance on the court this season.</p>
