Local Firefighter Receives First David Gray Leadership Award
Master Firefighter David Sargenski honored at Georgia State Capitol for integrity and servant leadership.

<p><em>Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA</em></p><p>Master Firefighter David Sargenski received the inaugural "David Gray" Memorial Firefighter Leadership Award during Firefighter Recognition Day at the Georgia State Capitol on Tuesday. The Georgia State Firefighters Association presented the honor to Sargenski to recognize his integrity and positive influence within the department.</p><p>The new award is named in memory of David "Grumpy" Gray and is designed to highlight firefighters who exemplify servant leadership. Melissa Gray, wife of the late David Gray, attended the ceremony in Atlanta to witness the presentation. Department representatives noted that Gray would be "humbled" to have the award in his honor and "very proud" of Sargenski’s selection as the first recipient.</p><p>The recognition took place during a gathering of public safety officials at the State Capitol, where Governor Brian Kemp addressed the attendees from the podium. Members of the department traveled to the event to support Sargenski, thanking him for his continued dedication to the department and the local community.</p>
