Hickory Flat Teacher Named to Superintendent's Advisory Council

Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA

Hickory Flat Elementary School kindergarten teacher Dani Silverman has been named to the Cherokee County School District’s newly formed Superintendent’s Teacher Advisory Council. The district announced the appointment on Nov. 29 as part of an initiative to provide educators with a dedicated platform to share feedback with administration.

The council was established to tap into the talent of local educators and allow them to offer direct input to the superintendent. The district is currently introducing council members to the community to highlight their contributions to the school system.

Silverman is a 10-year educator who began her tenure at Hickory Flat as a kindergarten paraprofessional for one year before assuming her current teaching role. Her career path also includes experience with Fulton County Schools as both a special education and general education teacher, as well as time spent teaching in a private school.

Regarding her approach to education, Silverman emphasized the importance of creating a nurturing environment where students feel safe and ready to learn. She noted that while academic growth is exciting, she finds the relationships built with students and their families during the school year to be the most rewarding aspect of her profession.
