CCSD Teachers Step Up as Recruiters at Saturday Job Fair
A team of 22 educators from across Cherokee County will work to attract new teachers at River Ridge High School this weekend.

Prospective teachers looking to join one of Georgia's largest school districts have a chance to meet the people who know the job best. The Cherokee County School District hosts its annual job fair from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 7, at River Ridge High School in Woodstock.
Leading the effort is the CCSD Recruitment Ambassadors program, a team of current district teachers who serve as the human face of hiring. Rather than leaving recruitment to administrators alone, the district deploys its own classroom educators to engage with candidates at job fairs — and to follow up with them afterward to answer lingering questions.
The ambassadors represent a deliberate cross-section of the district. The team spans multiple grade levels, subject areas, years of experience, and personal backgrounds, giving prospective hires a realistic picture of what teaching in Cherokee County looks like across its many campuses. Elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools all have a seat at the table, from STEM academies to fine arts programs.
This year's team of 22 ambassadors draws from schools across the county, including Clark Creek Elementary STEM Academy, Hasty Elementary Fine Arts Academy, Sequoyah High School, Creekview High School, Teasley Middle School, Creekland Middle School, and Liberty Elementary, among others. The breadth of representation is intentional — a candidate interested in middle school science gets a different conversation than one eyeing an elementary arts position.
The ambassador model reflects a broader ambition the Cherokee County School District has set for itself: becoming the highest-performing school district in Georgia. Recruiting strong teachers is central to that goal, and the district has leaned into the idea that no one sells the job more credibly than someone already doing it well.
Saturday's job fair is open to certified and pre-certified teachers, and candidates can expect on-site conversations with both ambassadors and district hiring staff. For anyone weighing a career move in education, the people across the table will be Cherokee County teachers — not just recruiters.
