26 Cherokee County Student Athletes Sign College Commitments
Students from Creekview, River Ridge, Sequoyah, and Cherokee High Schools finalized plans to compete at the collegiate level.

<p><em>Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA</em></p><p>Twenty-six student athletes from the Cherokee County School District solidified their collegiate futures on Wednesday, signing National Letters of Intent to compete in sports ranging from football to lacrosse. The February 4 event marks the district's third signing celebration of the school year.</p><p>Ceremonies took place at Creekview, River Ridge, and Sequoyah High Schools to honor the signees. While Cherokee High School athletes were announced during this cycle, they will participate in a formal ceremony scheduled for April. These latest commitments bring the district’s total to 82 student athletes moving on to the next level during the current school year.</p><p>At River Ridge High School, six students signed commitments. The group includes Will Barry (Huntingdon College) and Jaxen Wages (Muskingum University) for football, Sadie Castle (Southwestern College) for volleyball, and Maggie Ku (Midway University) for tennis. Additionally, Lilly Melton signed with Reinhardt University for softball, and Hailey Rush committed to Kennesaw State University for cheerleading.</p><p>Sequoyah High School saw nine athletes sign, including William Rajecki committing to the University of Tennessee for football and multiple lacrosse commitments to colleges such as Coker University and Young Harris College. Creekview High School celebrated six athletes, while Cherokee High School announced five football players, including Jack Ruban, who will attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The district plans to hold its next signing event in April.</p>
