Officers gathered with community members at Black Rifle Coffee to answer questions and build relationships

The Woodstock Police Department brought its latest Coffee with a Cop event to Black Rifle Coffee Company in Woodstock, giving officers and residents a chance to share a cup and a conversation in a setting a little more relaxed than a city council chamber.
Coffee with a Cop is a nationally recognized community policing program built on a simple idea: that informal, one-on-one conversation in a neutral setting can accomplish what formal town halls often cannot. There's no agenda, no podium, no microphone, just officers and neighbors talking. Residents can ask questions, raise concerns, or simply put a face to the badge of someone patrolling their street.
Officers connected with a range of community members who stopped in throughout the event, fielding questions and trading stories along the way. The department expressed gratitude for the turnout and the warm reception from Woodstock residents.
Black Rifle Coffee Company, with its veteran-founded roots and loyal following, made for a comfortable backdrop for the gathering. The Woodstock location drew a crowd that was clearly happy to engage.
For anyone who missed it, there's reason to stay tuned. The department pointed to a next event on the horizon, though no date has been formally announced, and regularly uses its Facebook page to share upcoming Coffee with a Cop dates and other community engagement opportunities. Following the department there is the easiest way to catch the next one before it passes.
In a city growing as quickly as Woodstock, events like this carry real weight. New residents are arriving constantly, and the chance to meet a local officer over coffee, rather than in a moment of stress, is the kind of thing that quietly builds the trust a community runs on.
