Gusts up to 35 mph could down tree limbs, cause power outages and create hazardous driving conditions
A wind advisory is in effect for the Woodstock area through 8 p.m. Thursday, with north winds of 10 to 20 mph and gusts up to 35 mph expected throughout the day.
The advisory covers central, east central, north central, northeast, northwest, southeast and west central Georgia.
Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects, and tree limbs could be blown down, with a few power outages possible, according to the advisory shared by the Woodstock Fire Department.
Authorities cautioned that strong winds can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. The Woodstock Fire Department shared the advisory on social media Thursday, encouraging the public to use extra caution on the roads and remain weather-aware through the evening hours.
