Freeze Warning in Effect for Woodstock Area Tuesday Night into Wednesday

Temperatures expected to drop as low as 20 degrees, posing risks to plants and outdoor pipes
The Woodstock Fire Department is alerting residents to a Freeze Warning in effect from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, with temperatures as low as 22 degrees expected overnight.
The warning covers portions of central, east central, north central, northeast, northwest, and west central Georgia, including the Woodstock and Cherokee County region. An earlier Freeze Warning — which brought temperatures as low as 20 degrees Tuesday morning — has since expired, as has a Wind Advisory that was in effect earlier in the day.
Forecasters warn that frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and may damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Residents are urged to take precautions before temperatures drop Tuesday night.
To protect plants, cover or bring tender vegetation indoors before the freeze sets in. To prevent pipes from freezing, officials recommend wrapping or draining exposed pipes, or allowing faucets to drip slowly overnight.
