Creekview Senior Leads List of 2026 CCSD STAR Students
Seven high school seniors and their chosen mentors recognized for top academic performance and SAT scores.

<p><em>Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA</em></p><p>Seven Cherokee County high school seniors were named 2026 STAR Students this week for achieving the highest SAT scores in their respective schools, with Creekview High School’s Levi Cone earning the distinction of overall district winner.</p><p>To qualify for the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) honor, a high school senior must achieve the highest score on a single SAT test date at their school and rank in the top tier of their class by GPA. Each student then selects a teacher who significantly influenced their academic journey to be named that school's STAR Teacher. As the district winner with the highest eligible SAT score among all honorees, Cone will advance to the regional competition to contend for the State PAGE STAR Student title.</p><p>The 2026 CCSD STAR Students and Teachers are:</p><p>* **Creekview HS:** Levi Cone (District Winner) and teacher Drew Lawson</p><p>* **Woodstock HS:** Daniel Cabra-Lara and teacher Kate McIntyre</p><p>* **Etowah HS:** Alexander Lu and teacher Kristy Wiggins</p><p>* **River Ridge HS:** Claire Park and teacher Tracye Bulger</p><p>* **Cherokee HS:** Grace Dai and teacher Morgan Clifton</p><p>* **Sequoyah HS:** Ben Koster and teacher Dr. Cathy Murphy</p><p>* **i-Grad Virtual Academy:** Michael McGuire and teacher Hannah Mitchell</p><p>The Canton Lions Club, which has sponsored the local program since 1958, honored the students and teachers at a ceremony on Tuesday. Each student received a scholarship from the club. The Cherokee County School Board and Superintendent Mary Elizabeth Davis plan to formally recognize the honorees at an upcoming School Board meeting.</p>
