Both honorees are state champions from the Creekview wrestling program, led by head coach Ross Cravens
Two wrestlers from Creekview High School's wrestling program have been named Cherokee County School District Athletes of the Month, the district announced.
Ariel Maicon, a two-time state champion, was named the CCSD Female Athlete of the Month, while Costen Wright, a state champion, earned the CCSD Male Athlete of the Month honor. Both compete under head coach Ross Cravens.
The Cherokee County School District recognizes one female and one male athlete each month. Having both honorees come from the same program is a rare distinction for Creekview's wrestling team.
