Fifty‑three Cherokee County School District student‑athletes signed National Letters of Intent the week of Nov. 14, 2025, committing to compete at the college level, the district announced — a milestone local families and schools celebrate as students move from high school sports to collegiate programs.
Ceremonies were held at each student’s high school to mark the earliest National Signing Day for sports other than football; the district says additional signing days will be held throughout the school year. The School Board was thanked for its support of student achievement and extracurricular opportunities.
Local student‑athletes from Woodstock High include Nina Carcone (fastpitch softball, University of Florida), Sarah Ebbs (fastpitch softball, Georgia Gwinnett College), Abigail Peppers (volleyball, Young Harris College) and Hunter Reese (baseball, Columbus State University). Across the district, other notable commitments include Kolby Martin (baseball, Georgia Tech), Luke Nitkowski (baseball, Georgia Tech), Melanie Brundage (softball, University of South Carolina) and Lena Sater (equestrian, University of South Carolina).
The district published full rosters of signees by school — Cherokee, Creekview, River Ridge, Sequoyah and Woodstock — with details about each student’s sport and college. Etowah High School did not hold a signing day event this week.
