Ball Ground STEM Academy reports increase in state accountability scores
School sees nearly four-point jump in Progress metrics on annual performance index

<p><em>Woodstock Community News| Woodstock, GA</em></p><p>Ball Ground ES STEM Academy announced a significant increase in its academic performance metrics on Feb. 4, highlighting a rise in student progress scores within the Cherokee County School District.</p><p>The school reported a nearly four-point increase in its "Progress" score, reaching 91.9 on Georgia's College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). In addition to the progress boost, the academy secured an increase in Content Mastery, a metric that verifies students are meeting academic benchmarks and growing in the classroom.</p><p>Principal Melinda Roulier attributed the improved scores to a focused effort on using performance statistics to guide teaching methods.</p><p>"Our school has worked collectively to understand how data supports our work to increase effectiveness of instructional strategies within every classroom with every student," Roulier said. "Data is an important piece of the puzzle that guides our work to provide each student the best opportunity to perform at their max potential."</p><p>The CCRPI serves as Georgia's statewide accountability system, measuring schools on content mastery, readiness, and graduation rates to ensure students are prepared for the next level of education.</p>
