Woodstock Middle Science Teacher Joins New District Advisory Council
Emily Green, a 23-year educator, will provide feedback to the superintendent as part of newly formed teacher council.

<p><em>Woodstock Community News | Woodstock, GA</em></p><p>Emily Green, a sixth-grade science teacher at Woodstock Middle School, has been selected to serve on the Cherokee County School District's newly formed Superintendent's Teacher Advisory Council, which gives educators a direct channel to share feedback with district leadership.</p><p>Green brings 23 years of teaching experience to the council, including the past 10 years at Woodstock Middle School. Before joining Cherokee County, she taught at middle schools in Athens and Alpharetta. She originally planned to become a physician assistant but switched to teaching after struggling with Organic Chemistry 2 in college.</p><p>In her classroom, Green focuses on providing multiple ways for students to demonstrate their knowledge, including technology-based projects, hands-on activities, and visual presentations. "Not all students thrive with notes, tests and essays," she said, explaining that offering variety helps all students learn effectively.</p><p>The district announced the formation of the advisory council to give teachers a platform to provide input on district decisions. Additional council members will be introduced in the coming weeks.</p>
