The recruitment initiative offers a starting salary exceeding $52,000, specialized incentives for paramedics, and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible applicants.</p><p>According to the department's recruitment notice, the position offers a compensation package of $52,307.32, which includes holidays and base FLSA overtime. Candidates holding paramedic credentials are eligible for an additional 10% hourly pay increase. Staff members operate on a 24/48 schedule, meaning firefighters work 24-hour shifts followed by 48 hours off duty.</p><p>Applicants must meet several minimum qualifications, including being at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. Required professional credentials include AEMT or EMT-I certification as well as Firefighter I certification. The hiring process involves the successful completion of an entrance exam, a physical agility test, and a background investigation.</p><p>The city provides an employer-funded pension and a 457 savings plan with a 5% match.
